The Walls Up Shadow
You are known to be the reliable, independent, self-sufficient, and the leader inside a group. People trust you because you know how to do the right thing. However, it’s hard for you to open up to others about your feelings, your insecurities, and to admit the times when you need help. You have high expectations, a project manager, a get things done boss person, but you high your high anxiety and feelings of low self esteem. You hide your problems really well so nobody really thinks twice to check in on you until it gets into a crisis level.
You feel a lot of pressure to succeed. Your perfectionism is your own slave driver. You can’t seem to find a time to relax. You feel guilty having fun, you don’t know how to loosen up, and you have trouble lightening up. You feel obligated to help a lot of people, you have a duty towards people you love, you are protective and you feel the responsibility to provide for everyone. You put too much pressure on yourself. In your negativity, people may call you a control freak or call you other names behind your back. At your worst, you may be micromanaging, hypercritical, and snappy. You are your own worst critic.
The Shadow's Twin Spirit
Every Shadow has its twin Spirit: Shadow Integration is the ability to illuminate and bring together both your shadow and your spirit so the power of choice will be returned to you, the soul who chooses.
The Walls Down
The Walls Down Spirit is someone who knows the value of letting certain people into your inner circle, who realizes that vulnerability and authenticity is the key to true emotional connection among human beings. You no longer view weakness as a bad thing but rather as a paradoxical opportunity for strength. You see true value in asking for help, in knowing when there is a problem that you are incapable of solving and seeking others in helping you resolve it. You value team work, you value relying upon others to show up, and you also recognize and encourage others to make their mistakes, learn from it, and grow from it the way you are also recognizing the process in yourself.
The Walls Down Spirit knows the value of giving and receiving goods and services creates flow in any relationship. You recognize when something is off balance, whether you are giving too much or not giving enough. You also recognize that not receiving help from others is also doing a disservice to both you and the potential giver. You recognize that taking advice, guidance, and help from others gives them an opportunity to show up powerfully in love as well.
You recognize that having resentments is not healthy for your mind, body, and spirit. How you deal with resentments is by first admitting that you have them in the first place, then seeking ways of those unprocessed wounds. You recognize that not everybody’s way is the same way so finding your way is your journey. You recognize that having your walls down at times is good. You know the difference between having boundaries to protect your sanity and serenity and having walls where you shut everyone out and self-isolate. You have an intuition of when to let your guard down and when to have your guard up.
