Does it ever feel like your life is passing you by? Like each moment is slipping away from you? Or maybe that you are wasting these precious moments being depressed, confused, and fearful?
Instead of asking yourself, “Why am I letting all these precious moments slip away?” – You can start taking the time each day to stay present and live in the current moment. Looking at everyday as a new beautiful opportunity to reinvent yourself and create the life you always dreamed of. A great way to practice stillness in the present is by journaling. Did you know that journaling at least 15 to 20 minutes a day three to five times over the course of a four-month period was enough to lower blood pressure and improve liver functionality. At the Love Story connecting with yourself and the current moment can be done through Expressive Writing with others. It not only helps us to understand ourselves on a deeper level, but also, it helps us connect with each of life’s moments and develop a more meaningful relationship with ourselves and the world around us.
Diving into the uncomfortable truth of our experiences through fiction gives us the breathing room that we need to figure out what really needs to be worked on so that we can realize that each moment comes together to create this beautiful life of ours. Maybe you’re ignoring the signs of depression and anxiety, or maybe you are just afraid of rejection so you stay stagnant instead of going after your dreams and goals that will lead you to the life you have always wanted.
Either way, Keeping a diary journal online helps you relax and stay present in the current moment so that you can discover hidden truths about what gives your unique human experience meaning.

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” — 1 Corinthians 13:12, KJV
Expressive Writing is an effective way to transform trauma into creative drama. When journaling online about our painful truths inside fiction, we can safely bring our “shadows” to light, or understand what triggers us on a deeper level. Sometimes, we need others to validate our experiences to feel less alone. And others need that in return. It’s a win-win situation.

What are the Benefits?
“You have the ability to just be like, ‘you know, this is my truth and if anybody doesn’t like it that’s fine because as far as they are concerned, everything that I’m saying is not real.’ It’s really helpful to know that people aren’t gonna to know what’s real, what’s not real, with what you write. You can release things and nobody will be the wiser about it.”

“I want to go back and explore. Why did it happen when it happened. …Women often suppress their emotions…we think, ‘if I just swallowed that back, it’ll go away,’ and it’s like ‘Nope! Still here.’ and so I think I’m starting to really figure, I can’t swallow that back. I need to let things out.”

“The point of journaling is to really just look inside and be like, ‘okay, what is this? Why am I feeling it? And what do I do with it?’ And that’s sort of what you have to ask yourself when you are journaling.”

Becoming self-aware gives you the power to break toxic habits, make positive changes in your life, and become more mature. When you are emotionally healthy you are able to stay present in the moment, and realize that even the bad moments are just momentary and will pass like every other emotion.

Self-respect is earned through watching yourself set healthy boundaries, knowing what you like and don’t like, & becoming confident in who you are through self-acceptance. Self-Respect helps you to understand that life is made up of a million moments, and some moments are better than others, but that does not change how special and worthy you are of living a beautiful life.

Owning your shadow – and learning how to integrate it – will effectively increase your self-confidence and boost your self-esteem. Once you understand yourself better, you can start to accept it. When you accept every piece of yourself it is easier to stay present, and enjoy and find peace in each moment good and bad.
